WGT 2011 Review
Taiwan's first comprehensive wine expo dazzles wine community

The Wine & Gourmet Taipei exhibition came to a festive conclusion on Saturday, June 26th 2011 at the Taipei World Trade Center. The show went incredibly well despite a passing typhoon, with buyers and exhibitors expressing immense satisfaction. 95% of visitors said they would definitely return to WGT in 2012 and spread the word with friends in the wine community. The hall was packed with nearly 10,000 wine enthusiasts journeying from every corner of the island to unite for two days of wine appreciation. The first 100 visitors each day received Open Up glasses from Chef & Sommelier and the most avid enthusiasts lined-up outside before the doors opened to ensure they received one.

Exhibition organizer Kaigo Co., Ltd. realized their vision of a comprehensive consumer wine show, allowing exhibitors to gain valuable brand recognition for their products, gauge market responsiveness and achieve immediate sales. Exhibitors from 30 companies showcased over a thousand types of wine from 13 major wine producing countries. It is estimated that the total revenue earned by on site sales exceeded 10 million New Taiwan dollars, with many exhibitors saying they easily recovered their investment. The success of WGT 2011 illustrates the growing popularity of wine in Taiwan, and creates a win-win environment for wine purveyors and consumers.
